Greater Trochanteric Bursa
This is a supplement to page 53-54 of The Resident’s Manual of Ultrasound-Guided Procedures.
We use ginormous 5-inch needles due to supply issues. You can see me inching the needle forward as it keeps flexing on me.
You can also approach the bursa horizontally. This means longer needle travel but much less risk of losing sight of the needle. This is helpful if the patient is large.
